Ethics Policy

Ethics Policy

The NIRNAY TV Ethics Policy defines the values that guide our journalism. It applies to editors, reporters, contributors, producers and anyone working under the NIRNAY TV Editorial Desk.

Accuracy And Honesty

We do not knowingly publish false information. Claims should be checked against credible evidence, and uncertainty should be made clear. Fabrication, plagiarism and deliberate distortion are not acceptable.

Independence

Editorial decisions must be based on public interest, news value and verified information. Political pressure, advertiser preference, personal relationships or gifts must not influence coverage.

Fairness

People and institutions mentioned in serious allegations should be given fair opportunity to respond when practical. We avoid sensational language that goes beyond known facts.

Conflicts Of Interest

Team members should disclose conflicts that may affect coverage. If a conflict exists, the editor may reassign the story or add disclosure where appropriate.

Privacy And Harm

We balance the public’s right to know with privacy, dignity and safety. Extra care is required when covering minors, victims, grief, health, crime and vulnerable communities.

Corrections And Accountability

Errors should be acknowledged and corrected under our Corrections Policy. Verification practices are explained in our Fact Check Policy.

Commercial Separation

Advertising and sponsored work must remain separate from editorial judgement. Readers can review Advertise With Us and Ownership & Funding for more transparency.
